Literature Text

Just when you start to forget,
A memory arrives.
Something simple,
Just a whisper on the wind
And like that it all comes rushing back.

The sight,
The sound,
The smell.

The feel of you.

Then suddenly I'm back there,
Spending days and nights with you.
Lost in those memories,
Just drifting through a whisper on the wind.
And like that it's all gone again.

The sight,
The sound,
The smell.

The feel of you.

And I'm sat here by myself again,
Waiting for that memory,
That simple, little thing.
Just a whisper on the wind,
That will take me back to you.
Sometimes I wish it was easier to forget and sometimes I wish it was easier to remember.

Memories are a curious device, they are either there when we wish they weren't and leaving just as we need them.
